I learned a few things about myself while building the Hemloft. First, I like challenge. Second, I like remote buildings. And third, I like design. Most of all, I loved the process and I really like what became of the Hemloft. Through the advice and creative input of all who visited this site, I have decided to make the Hemloft a secret place in the woods for others to discover and enjoy. I will happily maintain and take responsibility for it, however, I don’t need ownership. I like the thought that something like the Hemloft can exist without belonging to anyone.

I now feel like I want to create something new, something of value that also doesn’t belong to anyone. It will be radically different in form and function than the Hemloft, however, it will have some similar characteristics: it will be remote, it will have a minimal footprint, it will be built mostly out of used materials, and it will push the boundaries of design.

If anyone would like to give me a boost, I am accepting donations. The money will go towards any materials I can’t find for free and possibly taking the opportunity to work on it full time (if I manage to raise enough). Basically, you’ll be helping me fulfill my dream of creating and sharing cool things : )
